Business Valuation for the Family Law Attorney
Presenter Bios

 

 

Christopher C. Melcher, CFLS-CALS, is dual specialized in family law and appellate law. Based in Los Angeles, he maintains a statewide practice involving high-value estates and complex legal issues, serving as a litigator at the trial and appellate level, a consultant to family lawyers, and an expert witness. He focuses on the financial aspects of divorce, litigation regarding premarital agreements, and international family law. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Family Lawyers. He is also a Diplomate of the American College of Family Trial Lawyers. He is certified as a specialist in Family Law Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He served as Chair of the State Bar of California Family Law Section for the 2011-2012 term and served on the board of the Association of Certified Family Law Specialists and the AAML Southern California Chapter. He has presented over 200 continuing legal education programs and published books and articles on family law.


Kenny Pierce, MBA, ABV, CVA, MAFF, is a business appraiser and family law forensic accounting expert. He has been engaged on hundreds of complex, high net worth marital dissolutions, and has been qualified as an expert and testified in California Superior Court in eight counties. Kenny earned his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Paul Merage School of Business at University of California, Irvine. He earned the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA). He earned both the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) certification and the Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF) certification specializing in Matrimonial Litigation from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA). Kenny is an associate member of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA), a member of the AICPA Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS) Section, an associate member of the CalCPA Forensic Services Section, and an associate member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of California.
